DESCRIPTION

The original sweetness.

Unlike most date sugars in the market, which are made from date slurry, dried and processed with additives to achieve a powder consistency, Uncolonised uses a fundamentally different process: dates are hand-pitted, and crushed into a fine powder. This preserves the whole fruit intact, retaining its natural fibre, minerals, and sweetness exactly as nature made it, with nothing extracted and nothing introduced.

The result is a natural, unrefined sweetener that can replace refined sugar in everyday cooking, baking, and beverages, without the additives, processing aids, or ingredient anxiety that come with most commercial alternatives. There is no slurry, no drying agents, no bulking ingredients. Just dates, in a form that's easy to measure, store, and use.

From Port To Your Kitchen

The ingredient changes with every archive number. This principle never does.

  • Sourced At Peak, Not At Convenience

Every ingredient is harvested at the point it is naturally at its best, not when it suits a factory schedule. Speed of production never decides when something is picked.

  • Processed Intentionally, Not By Shortcut

Whether it is pitting, milling, or roasting, each ingredient is processed using the method that protects it best, even when that method takes longer or costs more than an industrial shortcut would.

  • Nothing Added. Nothing Removed

No additives. No preservatives. No fillers. No refining away what made the ingredient worth keeping in the first place. Every product in the Archive is a single ingredient, exactly as it says on the label.

  • Dignity in The Supply Chain

Every ingredient is traced to the people who touched it. We are finalising how we represent them visually, to ensure their dignity is protected in every image we choose to show.

Find answers to common questions about our products, ingredients, sourcing, and usage guidelines.

Have questions?

What makes the Uncolonised Archive different from other pantry staples?

Every ingredient in the Archive is single origin and processed only enough to become shelf staple, never enough to change what it is. No slurry, no refining, no additives. Just the ingredient, kept whole.

How are your ingredients sourced and processed?

Each ingredient is sourced and processed ethically and gently, using methods chosen to protect nutrition rather than speed production. Every tin and pouch carries a QR code so you can see where yours came from.

Do your products contain any additives or preservatives?

No. Every product in the Archive is free of additives and preservatives, it includes only the listed ingredients. Nothing added and nothing removed. What's on the label is what's in the pack.

What is the shelf life of your products, and how should I store them?

Shelf life is printed on each pack along with the batch date. Store in a cool, dry place, and reseal the pack tightly after each use to keep the ingredient fresh.

How do I use these ingredients in everyday cooking?

Each product page carries specific usage guidance, since a spoon of date powder, a tablespoon of millet flour, and a pinch of turmeric all work differently in the kitchen. As a starting principle, think of them as direct swaps for their refined counterparts, in the same quantity you'd normally use.
