What is Uncolonised Date Powder made of?
One hundred per cent whole dates. It is a single ingredient product, with nothing added and nothing removed (except for the date pits).
How is Uncolonised Date Powder made?
Dates are harvested and packed into sacks, which are received at the facility. Each date is hand-pitted, then sorted to remove any foreign matter. The dates are then dried at a controlled, moderate temperature, cooled, and ground into a fine powder.
How is this different from ordinary date sugar?
Most date sugar is made from a slurry that is dried and processed at high heat, with additives, binders, and anti-caking agents. This strips out the fibre and minerals. Uncolonised preserves the whole fruit, hand-pitted and gently processed, with nothing added and nothing removed.
Does it contain any additives, preservatives, or anti-caking agents?
No. Uncolonised Date Powder contains no additives, preservatives, binders, or anti-caking agents of any kind.
Is it vegan and plant-based?
Yes. All Uncolonised products are one hundred per cent plant-based, with zero animal exploitation in the supply chain.
Does it contain any allergens?
Uncolonised Date Powder is produced in a dedicated, only-dates facility and contains no known allergens. For future product lines beyond date powder, customers should review the ingredient list for any specific allergy or intolerance before use.

What makes Uncolonised different from other date sugars?
Uncolonised currently ships across India, with all orders fulfilled through the online store.
How long does an order take to arrive?
Orders are processed within one to two business days of confirmation. From dispatch, metro cities typically receive orders within three to five business days, and non-metro, Tier 2, and Tier 3 locations within five to eight business days. These are estimates and may vary with location and courier availability.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on your delivery location and order value, and are always shown clearly before payment is made.
How do I track my order?
A tracking ID is sent to the registered email address and phone number once the order is dispatched, and can be used to track delivery through the courier partner's website.
What happens if my order arrives damaged or does not arrive on time?
Contact hello@uncolonised.in within forty-eight hours of the expected delivery date, with the order number and photographs of any damage. The team will investigate and resolve the issue promptly.
What happens if delivery fails because of an incorrect address?
If delivery is unsuccessful due to an incorrect address at checkout or repeated unavailability, the order may be returned to Uncolonised, and re-shipping charges will apply. Customers should confirm their delivery address and contact number before placing an order.

Can I return a product once it has been opened?
No. As Uncolonised Date Powder is a consumable food product, opened or partially used products cannot be returned, for hygiene and safety reasons. This is standard practice across food brands and is consistent with FSSAI food safety guidelines.
When am I eligible for a return, replacement, or refund?
A return, replacement, or refund can be arranged if the product arrives physically damaged, the packaging is compromised, an incorrect product is received, the product is past its best before date on receipt, or there is a verifiable quality defect such as foreign material, off smell, or discolouration.
How do I raise a return or refund request?
Email hello@uncolonised.in within forty-eight hours of receiving the order, including the order number, a description of the issue, and photographs of the product and packaging. The team responds within two business days, and in many cases a photograph is sufficient, so the product does not need to be sent back.
How long do refunds take?
Approved refunds are processed within five to seven business days of confirmation. The time for the amount to reflect in the customer's account depends on their bank or payment provider, typically an additional two to five working days.
Can I cancel my order after placing it?
Yes, at no charge, as long as the order has not yet been dispatched. Email hello@uncolonised.in with the order number as soon as possible, since orders are typically processed within one to two business days.
What if my order has already been dispatched?
Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled. Please refer to the Return and Refund Policy for the options available once the order is received.

What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are accepted through the options displayed at checkout, processed securely through the payment gateway. Card details are not stored.
Are the prices shown inclusive of tax?
Yes. All prices are listed in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable GST. Shipping charges are shown separately at checkout.
Can prices change after I place an order?
Uncolonised reserves the right to change prices at any time without prior notice. However, the price applicable to a given order is the price confirmed at the time of that order.

Yes. Payment information is processed securely through the payment gateway, and Uncolonised does not store card details.

Personal data is shared only with the payment gateway partner, logistics and courier partners, and analytics tools (in anonymised form), strictly to fulfil orders and improve the website. It is never sold or shared for third-party marketing purposes.

Can I request that my data be deleted?
Yes, at any time, subject to any legal obligations Uncolonised must fulfil.

What does the Uncolonised name mean?
Uncolonised is a cultural restoration brand. It exists to return ancestral ingredient knowledge, such as whole-date sweetening, that was displaced by industrial food processing, starting with date powder and expanding over time to other ancestral ingredients.
Do you sell anything besides date powder?
A Grain Powder pack is already listed on the store. Other products are coming soon.
Do I need to be a certain age to order?
Yes. Customers must be at least eighteen years of age to place an order on the website.
